HARIDWAR - DAKSH MAHADEV TEMPLE
DAKSH MAHADEV TEMPLE has been built in the memory of King Daksha, the father of Mata Sati. According to mythology, a huge yagya was performed by King Daksha at this place. He invited everyone except his son-in-law Lord Shiva in this yagya. Due to such behavior of her father, Sati felt very humiliated and sacrificed her life in the sacred fire of Yagya. This enraged the followers of Shiva and they killed Daksha. Later Shiva revived him. There is a small pit in this temple and it is believed that this is the place where Goddess Sati sacrificed her life.

If you are travelling by train, nearest railway station to Bhart Mata Mandir is Haridwar railway station which is 3 km away. From station, one can take bus, taxi and local cabs to reach Daksh Mahadev Temple.
